ARGONAUTS. ASCENT (ALIYAH). ARGONAUTS. ASCENT (ALIYAH). (On the waves of my memory). It seems to me that the aliyah of our emigrants, who rose from their habitable places in search of a better lot and a cherished shore, is very similar to the story of the Argonauts, who set off to unknown lands on a dangerous journey. After all, it's not for nothing that there is such a concept as "Waves of emigration". Huge masses of people got into boats and set off for unknown lands, having not the slightest idea of what awaited them ahead. Someone reached the "historical shore", others were carried by the current to other lands. Everyone has their own history and fate. One thing can be said with certainty. A lot depended on who was sitting next to you in the boat, and if there was also a good helmsman... And so, suitcase, train station and..., into the raging sea of emigration. Everyone, in this "great campaign", has to pass their own Lemnos with seductive Lemnian women, hear the sweet-voiced deceptive nymphs, perform, like Hercules, their 12 and even more labors, defend themselves from harmful harpies and the sharp bronze feathers of the Stymphalian birds and pass the Symplegades rocks. But for now, forward! The prizes will go to the strongest! Someone will get the "Golden Fleece", others - the "Scroll..", well, and someone will get the consolation prize - "Made in China". To each his own! Forward Argonauts! Boats into the water! Wet the oars! ASCENT! The three stories are combined into one cycle. I in no way claim the glory of my beloved Hašek (by the way, whose grave I visited quite recently). However, what unites me with him is the love for Czech beer and the fact that almost all of his characters, and the heroes of my stories, although they bear a collective image, still in one way or another were encountered on the author's life path. As well as the geographical locations of the events described. And in order not to strain the reader, their "Anabasis" is described in a light and playful form, like the adventures of Švejk, dear to my heart. However, judge for yourselves!
